The very first Day of DotNetNuke (as that name) was held in Tampa, Florida. It was by all accounts a smashing success. However, due to many limitations, difficulties, and challenges, and to expose the event to more people, a concerted effort was being made to move the event to the city of Orlando, Florida. Such a move would have made the event a more centralized location, making it more accessible to the mass majority of the people in the State of Florida, among other things.
Unfortunately, this effort proved to be extremely difficult to do. There were a total of 5 different venues that at some point had committed to sponsoring the event by donating venue space, but for various reasons, each venue had to back out of the agreement before any announcement was able to be made. :(
The Bad News First
There was a very energetic and strong final push over the last 2-4 weeks to finally get a venue locked in that could fit the needs of the event. Unfortunately, this effort came up fruitless. As a result, the Day of DotNetNuke in Orlando is cancelled until next year.
It’s no secret that nearly the entire DotNetNuke community was looking forward to this event, so it is with an overwhelming amount of sadness that this announcement is being made.
Your Day of DotNetNuke thirst will not go unquenched though!
The Good (Great) News Last
There is another Day of DotNetNuke event right around the corner (in the U.S.), planned for the first week of October. This announcement will be made formally very shortly. So stay tuned!
